Q & A

Thinking about doing a thread lift?

Thread lift is the new hot trend.

Thread lift with V Soft Line resets your face V shape by placing thin lifting threads subdermally or intradermally. At the same time, it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which provides a more noticeable skin rejuvenation. A thread lift resembles a small face lift.

This is a new natural facelift without any longer healing time. V Soft Line is produced by Swedish V Soft Lift AB.

One can lift and treat:

jaw line
double chin
thin folds
and more

The treatment takes about 30-60 minutes and is performed by inserting a thin needle under the skin. The procedure is similar to one or filler treatment. Thread is thinner than a hair strand and consists of polydioxanone (PDO) that has been used for over twenty years in surgery. Durability can vary from one to two years, depending on age, lifestyle and skin type. After treatment, you can go home immediately and at best, there will hardly be any bleeding or swelling.

Polydioxanone (PDO)

Polydioxanone is a colorless, crystal-like, biodegradable synthetic, non-animal-based polymer. The main advantage is that PDO is biodegradable. Biodegradation of PDO occurs through a process of hydrolysis over a period of six to eight months. It mainly occurs via the kidneys.

Before and after treatment

As with other treatments that have to do with injections, one should primarily avoid anything that is blood thinner such as Treo or other preparations containing acetylsalicylic acid. You should also avoid alcohol, supplements such as vitamin E, Omega fish oils, some Chinese drugs such as gingko for 1-2 days before and after the procedure. Avoid having to exercise. You are also advised to sleep on your back to avoid pressure on the face which may cause misalignment of the threads.

A thread lift is not expensive compared to a surgical face lift. Because the treatment is so affordable and non-invasive, it should be your first step in the fight against aging. Of course, the price varies depending on which clinic you choose. Contact us for further information on which clinics perform thread treatments with V Soft Line.

A hugh cause of ageing is that the skin loses collagen. At the age of 25 the skin is made up of about 75 % collagen, but it decreases rapidly with age. After the menopause among women, collagen decreases by up to one third in ten years. A sure sign that collagen has decreased is that the skin becomes thinner and lines, wrinkles and furrows start to become visible. V Soft Line has a wide range of different threads. The MONO and SCREW types are inserted into the dermis in a meshwork pattern. These stimulate collagen production that provides a support capacity with a durable lifting effect and tighter, firmer skin.

The BARB threads are equipped with fine hooks and offer a stronger lifting effect. After 90 days, the newly-formed collagen fibers can be observed within a radius of 1 to 3 mm of each thread. No damage occurs in the subcutaneous tissue as is potentially the case with larger diameter or longer-lasting threads.

1. What is V Soft Line?

V Soft Line is a minor non-invasive treatment with thin threads that lift the skin, increase elasticity. The threads are completely biodegradable. Side effects are minimal except for possible bruising and swelling. Immediately after the treatment you may return to your normal daily activities. The material is of monofilament polydioxanone (PDO), a biocompatible suture material that holds the tissue and stimulates collagen formation.

2. What are the threads?

V Soft Line are small, thin patented threads absorbed gradually by the skin tissue. Parts or whole of the face can be treated in order to achieve lift, replenishment and rejuvenation. The cheeks, jawline, mouth corners, eyebrows and neck all respond well to the treatment. Often the only other option is surgery. The procedure takes between thirty and sixty minutes. It is a bit more involved than a filler treatment but with more advanced results. Immediately after treatment you may choose to return to your normal daily activities, albeit with a little help from make-up and concealer. You should notice several immediate positive effects, such as lift and repositioning of the tissues. After four weeks you will appreciate an improved, smoother and fuller complexion with restoration of the youthful balance of the face.

3. How does a V Soft Line treatment work?

Many thin threads attached to needles are inserted into the dermis in a meshwork pattern, feeling somewhat like a filler treatment. The threads are placed at specific sites for the desired lift and the needles removed. The threads provide lift and reproduces youthful facial features including thicker skin. The treatment is performed with a local anesthetic similar to that used for minor surgery. The results are immediately visible after the procedure although the full results take around two months to develop.

4. What is the advantage of a V Soft Line treatment?

VSoft Line addresses some problems associated with facial ageing that are only otherwise dealt with by invasive surgery, in particular sagging aspects of the low face, neck and jaw line. V Soft Line thus offers anti-ageing solutions for those not wishing to undergo surgery. Although the results cannot be compared to surgery the treatment is more affordable and tolerable. The treatment can be combined with other treatments eg fillers and Botox and can be performed over a period of time rather than all at once.

5. How long does a V Soft Line treatment last?

The effect lasts one to two years, depending on age, lifestyle and skin condition. Results generally last longer in people who take care of their skin and general health by avoiding the sun, attention to a healthy diet and not smoking.

6. Is there a risk of complications or side effects?

Swelling and possible bruising may occur with treatment.

7. Who is authorized to conduct a V Soft Line treatment?

A V Soft Line treatment may only be performed by a certified physician or delegated nurse.
